In the Spotlight!

Image
My eBook, Refracted , is in the spotlight over at A.F. Stewart's " In the Spotlight " blog today. It's a beautiful site, spotlighting lots of wonderful books and authors; I'm honored to be in such good company. There's an impressive Amazon associate page too where you can find links for purchases. I'm really grateful to A.F. Stewart for spotlighting me, and I hope you'll all go over there and browse the various posts. Thank you.

I'm back, and I won an award

I'm back from our trip, and I just won a Versatile Blogger award Many thanks to Donna McDine at Write what Inspires You ( http://donna-mcdine.blogspot.com/ ) for the surprise welcome back from my vacation. In accepting this award I have to thank the bestower (done), share seven things about myself (hmmm, I’m sure I’ve done that somewhere before), and pass the award on to fifteen newly discovered or followed friends. Fifteen! Help! I have a feeling I’ve done this before too, but I’m not sure I’ve newly discovered another fifteen yet. Anyway, seven things about me: 1) I’ve just been on vacation to San Juan Island. 2) I enjoyed a wonderful cooked gluten-free breakfast every day of my stay at Argyle House while we were there. Absolute luxury. If you’re gluten intolerant you’ll know what a wonderful treat that is. 3) I saw whales, lots of them, courtesy of Bill Carli who so expertly guided our boat—great commentary, great company, great fun. 4) I got a copy of Bill Carli’s recent nove...

Boring Facts and Beautiful Blogs

Image
Helen Ginger gave me a beautiful blogger award, and while reading her article I watched the slideshow in her sidebar. Hers is most certainly a beautiful blog. No slideshows here—not yet anyway—but I gather I’m meant to share seven interesting things about myself and nominate seven other beautiful bloggers… Interesting things… I have a feeling I’ve probably shared everything interesting (and many things not) in my previous posts, but I’ll see what I can think of. 1. My youngest son graduates from college this summer. 2. My oldest son graduates from medical school on the same day. 3. They’re in different states. 4. I haven’t yet mastered the art of being in two places at once, though motherhood has at least improved my imitation of the art. 5. Motherhood has also improved my skills at doing more than two things at once… 6. …and at reading more than two books at once… 7. …and at partaking in more than two conversations at once—one per child plus one for the spouse with the aid of two pho...

Kreativ Blogger Award

Image
I blog, and I can't spell. Maybe that's why Cathy Bryant at WordVessel just awarded me my second Kreativ Blogger Award. It means I have to post a picture of the award, list 7 favorite things, and pass the award on to 7 favorite blogs. So here's some random favorite things, in a totally random order… 1. Sunshine after rain (but not if I’m driving in it) 2. Dogs chasing spherical objects on the green 3. Squirrels chasing each other round a tree trunk 4. Sons coming home for holidays 5. Mum coming to stay for Christmas (She arrives 2 weeks today!!!) 6. That feeling when a story comes out of my head and lands safely in the computer. 7. The moment when someone says “Yes, I’ll buy your book” (better still, buy two). And seven favorite blogs… The Blood Red Pencil – great advice for aspiring writers. Terry’s Place – more great advice for writers; fun reading too. Second Wind Publishing – they publish great books and their authors write a good blog. Plus they've got a fantas...
