Balance

Lynn Tincher offered an interesting challenge from the Literary Lynnch Pen in her newsletter. I decided to give it a go and emailed my response.

Today my email rejection from Glimmertrain (yeah, well; I like to aim high) was balanced by an email from Lynn saying she'd posted my piece on the site. It's always nice when those negatives get evened out with positives. I hope you'll go on over there and take a look at my tale - all 50 words of it. You could even sign up for the newsletter, and send in your own entry for next week's challenge.

It's always nice to get that balance. The acceptance/rejection is a roller coaster of emotions for me. :)

I will go over there and check it out! Oh and gosh, I know so many rejected by Glimmertrain *laugh* it's almost an honor to be rejected *haw!* I mean, just being brave enough to submit is something...laugh.

Thanks for all the encouragement. So, do I try Glimmertrain again? Well, probably... I suppose... once or twice a year when they have free competitions...

And I'm trying Lynn Tincher's WordWorm again as well of course.

Sliding a final achievement under the wire...

The year's almost over and I really can't believe it. Where did the time go? I've been reading my friends' resolution lists posted online, and feeling bad about my lack thereof - of lists I mean; I have plenty more resolutions than I need. Get published. Get published. That seems to be my constant refrain, but not an aim I can claim to have much control over. Last year I tried amending it to "submit," and I think I managed it. At least, I was managing until summer. But then it was Christmas and New Year's Eve. Where did the time go? Still, I am sliding one final achievement under the wire of '09. I took the Poetic Asides November challenge, sometime in those missing months, and wrote a poem a day for 30 days. But then you have to organize a collection of 10-20 poems to complete the task.
