Incorporating real life into fantasy, with author Stacy Eaton

Today I have the privilege of welcoming author Stacy Eaton to my blog. I've reviewed Stacy's Blue Blood for Life and My Blood Runs Blue before--two excellent blends of police procedural,  paranormal thriller, and vampire romance. I expect to post reviews of her new release Garda later this week, and I have her other novel, Whether I'll Live or Die firmly planted on my reading list--an excellent and very prolific author. Welcome Stacy!

Sheila – Thank you so much for allowing me to visit your blog and your readers!  I love having the opportunity to make new friends and share the things that I am doing.  As you know Sheila, I just released my fourth novel, Garda ~ Welcome to the Realm, and I am so excited about it!

This new novel is set into the paranormal word of Guardian Angels. Many people have asked me where I got the title “Garda – Welcome to the Realm” and it might seem like a strange title for my book, but let me explain.

Garda in literal Irish translation means “Guardian”. The Irish Police are called the Garda Síochána, or translated, “Guards of Peace”. Who wouldn’t be more peaceful then a guardian angel right?  What your readers might not know is that I am a full time police officer, so the use of Garda in my title has two meanings to me, one being the Guardian and the other being the law enforcement.

Now, the second part, The Realm…  The Realm is a living dimension in my story where the angels reside and train. It is a place where they can view the charges that they have down below in the living arena. I couldn’t tell you where I came up with the idea for that, but it came to me one day and I liked the way it sounded.

This is the first time I have written about angels. My first two published books deal with paranormal also, but they bring the vampires into the world of law enforcement. Actually, all of my books deal with police procedural things. It is what I know well and I like to incorporate a little bit of real life into my fantasy novels.

Garda is a very emotional and action packed book. There are three main characters that will take you on a whirlwind ride of life, love, death and destiny. I hope your readers can take a few moments to check out the book blurb and the video trailer here and maybe decide to check my newest book out!

Thank you so much for having me here today Sheila!! It’s always a pleasure! Oh – and something else your readers might not know, I have a dog, a Shiloh Shepherd. His name is Garda!

Thanks again Sheila!!

Thank you Stacy. Emotional... Action packed... That definitely describes it. I really enjoyed reading Garda and will post reviews later this week. I'm definitely looking forward to reading your other book too, and I love the way your background brings such immediate authenticity to the law enforcement side of your novels. Say Hi to the canine Garda for me--I love dogs!

Book Blurb:
“He is my destiny."

There is a place that lies between heaven and Earth, it is called The Realm. Within this place, the Guards of Peace, known as Garda Síochána, learn to guide and protect the ones that live below until they are called home.

Officer Corey Hamilton is dedicated to being the best that she can be, in uniform and out. Her loving nature, compassionate thoughts, and warrior strength make her the perfect candidate to join the Garda Síochána and spend her eternity protecting and guiding others.

Just before Corey dies in a line-of-duty accident, she meets Officer Mitchell O’Reilly. Her feelings for him may change her destiny, but not for the better, as she falls in love with this married man. Brock, Corey’s personal Garda, will bring her home to The Realm and attempt to train her for her future, even while she still fights for her past.

Will Brock be able to direct Corey down the right path, or will she cross the line and fall from grace?

Join Corey, Mitchell, and Brock for an emotional and heart-pounding adventure that is sure to make you wonder if angels are really guiding us in our everyday lives.
