Then I found that the murder victim was an author, and one of the protagonists wants to write a book, and... and I was hooked. A very bad thing is a fast-moving novel, filled with secrets to be discovered, and the hint of “a very bad thing” hiding in the past. Twists and turns abound, and relationships change and grow as the story progresses, making for a fascinating tale and an enjoyable, quick read.
